Francesco Cito discovers that photographing a wedding in Naples has more in a common with a Hollywood film shoot than a family gathering.Photographing a wedding in Naples has more in a common with a Hollywood film shoot than a family affair. Although bride and groom are the leading 'actors', family members are drafted in to act as extras evoking the Roman Empire. Centurions, armour, historic locations, pages and manservants will feature in the picture to complement the bride’s ludicrously expensive dress. Often bride and groom will go so far as to pose with a photogenic stranger, rather than their new spouse, to gain a more dramatic impact. The poorer the couple the more extravagant the ceremony, with some building up huge debts which take years to pay off.
