• Jelle Krings is an independent photographer, reporter and filmmaker. He is interested in humanising large, elusive themes such as war, migration, climate change, and geopolitical issues, through people and community-driven, long-term, multimedia projects with a focus on photography.

    Jelle regularly works on assignment for outlets such as The Guardian, National Geographic, CNN, Newsweek, Stern and De Volkskrant.

    His work has been recognised with nominations and awards by Pictures of the Year international (2021, 2023, 2024), the Online Journalism Award (2021), the Visa d’or franceinfo Award for the Best Digital News Story (2023), the Zilveren Camera (2021, 2023) and the Tegel (2022). Jelle was a participant of the 2024 Eddie Adams Workshop.

    Jelle holds a BA degree in European and International Law, a MA degree in Dutch Law, and worked in law before becoming a journalist.

    He lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
