Kael Alford is one of seven recipients of the prestigious Knight Luce Fellowship granted by the University of Southern California’s School for Communication and Journalism.

She will use her fellowship to return to Iraq, where she worked in the the immediate aftermath of the US invasion in 2003 and produced a groundbreaking project called Unembedded with three other award-winning journalists – Ghaith Abdul-Ahad, Thorne Anderson and Rita Leistner.
