Panos photographer Marc Schlossman has launched a new website – www.extinction.photo – which charts the demise and disappearance of species from across the globe through images of preserved specimens in museums and institutes in the United States and Europe.

Designed by Tom Hole of Stirtingale, the site gives insights into the reasons why species disappeared with extraordinarily detailed imagery that can be viewed under a magnifying loupe.
